Hmmm.. I've always really liked making handcrafts - cross stitching and friendship braceletting my way through primary school. I also used to make extra props for my dolls...like egg fried rice and pizzas out of felt. Lol. Doll's house accessories absolutely fascinated me.
Textiles at GCSE was a good thing to take in hindsight, hopefully I'll still remember how sewing machines work when I decide to start making my own curtains. Being able to sew anything is a great skill to have I think.
Funny thing is, I also preferred sculture work to painting in art lessons. I seemed to have more control over what I could make out of clay than what was coming out at the end of my paint brushes.
Great craftsmanship is a wonderful artform, whether it be an exquisite pair of shoes, a beautifully fired pottery set, the decorated interior of an old palace or even, a yummy plate of pasta. Cooking is another great art that I love and wish I was better at. Washing up afterwards is a pain though.
